Can I forward email from Outlook using ForwardMX? Print

In order to use ForwardMX, you need to be able to set the MX records for the domain name that you wish to use with ForwardMX, which means that all of the emails for your domain name are being handled by ForwardMX.

If you do not own or control the domain name, or do not want all of your emails to be forwarded through ForwardMX, then our service is not a good fit for you.

There are two different types of "Outlook":

  • Microsoft Outlook - the desktop client software that runs on your Windows PC. Typically this is used to connect to a business hosted email account, or an account provided by your Internet Provider.
  • Outlook.com - the browser based client that runs inside your web browser. Typically this is used for free @outlook.com/@hotmail.com/@live.com email addresses from Microsoft.

If you want to forward email from Outlook to another email address, then please refer the the support documentation from Microsoft for your to configure forwarding rules for the Microsoft Outlook desktop client or the Outlook.com web client.

Please note that if you're using Outlook, ForwardMX is not able to assist you with forwarding emails from Outlook.
